What is FortiGate?
FortiGate is Fortinet’s next-generation firewall (NGFW) family. Each FortiGate combines firewalling, threat protection and SD-WAN in one appliance, and runs FortiOS. Through Hydrasat, each model is available as hardware only or with a FortiGuard Unified Threat Protection (UTP) or Enterprise Protection bundle on a 1, 3 or 5 year term. The bundles include FortiCare Premium support and add services such as intrusion prevention, antivirus, sandboxing, and web and DNS filtering; Enterprise Protection adds data loss prevention and more.
Who it fits
- Small offices, home offices and retail sites: compact desktop models such as the FortiGate 30G and 50G.
- Branch offices: desktop models such as the FortiGate 70G and 71F, with more ports and higher throughput.
- Larger sites and small-to-midsize businesses: the FortiGate 90G.
- Sites that need 10G uplinks: 1RU rack-mount models such as the FortiGate 120G and 200G.
